Tap Dance - This extremely popular form of dance was first introduced in the United States during the 1920s. Because of the many styles of Jazz music, Swing also comes in many flavors - Lindy Hop, Jitterbug, Boogie Woogie, West Coast Swing, and Rock and Roll. Either way, I always love watching it with my dad and mom while we eat our awesome chip dip. Swing - This dance is today a synonym for the jazz and swing music of the 1920s-1930s. I don't understand much about football, besides the fact that guys go onto a field and tackle each other over a weirdly shaped ball. The freshness and crispness of the air is intoxicating and wonderful. Who doesn't like getting dressed up as a "slutty nurse" or as Superman and eating a lot of candy and food?Įven better, who doesn't like home-cooked turkey with stuffing and gravy? I'm literally almost drooling thinking about it? Also, pumpkin pie. Plus, pets won't usually try to steal the blankets, or change the show you're watching. Yes, you can cuddle your pets if you don't have a S.O. Blankets + Cuddling + Netflix = life goals and the ultimate happiness. Who doesn't like blankets and cuddling? Also, add in Netflix there. From the 1920s to the 2000s, music will forever be a way people can express themselves from many different cultures.įall is the perfect time for two things: Blankets and cuddling. Dance will always have a major impact on history and the future. Thinking back to the early 2000s, the signature dances that come to mind were throwbacks like "crank that Soulja Boy," "the lean wit it rock wit it," "teach me how to dougie," and shuffling. In the 2000s artist like Brittany Spears, N'Sync, Beyonce and Ciara swept the nation with their hit singles and rocking dance moves. The 90s brought major artists such as MC Hammer, Vanilla ice, and Black Street that still bless our eardrums today. The 1990s had dances from the tootsie roll, the running man, to the macarena that still are popular in dances that kids do today. Lambada, a dance with long-standing Brazilian roots, was a very sensual dance, even though it was very fast paced.ġ990s - the era of hip hop and line dancing which influenced dance culture tremendously to this day. Even though break dancing was such a big thing, it was also the year of punk and heavy metal such as moshing (jumping around to the sounds of loud heavy metal music.) A famous dance film in the 1980s was "Dirty Dancing" which featured a dance style called lambada. ![]() ![]() Break dancing being one of the biggest crazes of the 1980s, street dancing was born in this era.
